Nick Begich, Bill Hill Participate in Alaska’s U.S. House Debate
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The race for Alaska’s U.S.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The race for Alaska’s U.S. House seat intensified on Wednesday evening as Republican incumbent Nick Begich and independent challenger Bill Hill participated in a live debate at Alaska Public Media’s Anchorage studio. This marked the second of three scheduled ‘Debate for the State’ events this month, following a four-way gubernatorial debate the previous week.
During the debate, moderated by Lori Townsend, political reporter Wil Courtney posed questions to both candidates. The event occurred shortly after a rally in Wasilla where President Donald Trump expressed support for Begich. In his remarks, Hill criticized Begich for prioritizing party alignment over Alaska’s interests, particularly regarding tariffs and foreign policy. With Election Day approaching on Nov. 3, absentee voting is already underway, and early in-person voting starts on Oct. 19.
